The Story

Sable Knot started as a mistake — a wax model that slipped while it was being tied off, and looked better for it. We rebuilt the piece around that accident: two textured panels that behave like cloth rather than metal, gathered at a single hand-finished knot and left to fall unevenly, deliberately not symmetrical. It is the most difficult piece in the collection to cast cleanly, since the drape has to read as soft in a material that is anything but. We keep it in small runs because the knot is finished by hand each time, and no two sit quite the same way at the throat.
